National Lifeguard Recert

What is National Lifeguard Service?

National Lifeguard Service (NLS) is the third and final certification required to become a pool, waterfront and waterparks lifeguard in Canada. In this course students bring their knowledge full circle with applying the physical and water rescue skills learnt in both Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross. NLS builds on the students’ knowledge while also adding physical skills, effect pool guarding, team based rescues and both land and water spinal management.

NLS is a demanding course in areas such as knowledge, leadership, organization, physical fitness and preparation. Students will spend their days in both the classroom and the pool practicing and solidifying their application and knowledge to ensure they are confident and prepared for the formal end of course examination.
